AdSpector Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 16, 2026

Overview

AdSpector is a Chrome extension that helps users save, organize, and analyze Facebook advertisements. This policy explains what information the extension processes, why it is used, and how users can control it.

Information AdSpector Processes

AdSpector may process the following information only as needed to provide its ad research features:

  • Facebook login status and account details such as user ID, display name, and profile picture, used to confirm access to Facebook Ad Library features.
  • Facebook Ad Library search settings, including query text, country, ad category, active status, media type, and publisher platform filters.
  • Saved ad data, including ad IDs, page names, page IDs, page profile images, ad copy, captions, creative media URLs, destination links, call-to-action text, active status, dates, and related ad counts.
  • Browser tab and page information limited to detecting Facebook Ad Library pages or links and adding user-facing save or open controls.
  • Extension-generated identifiers and technical status data used for extension operation, service availability, diagnostics, and uninstall handling.

How Information Is Used

  • To search and display Facebook Ad Library results requested by the user.
  • To save ads selected by the user and make them searchable in the extension.
  • To open the original Facebook Ad Library detail page for a saved or detected ad.
  • To cache recent ad search responses for performance and reduce repeated requests.
  • To maintain the extension service and troubleshoot operational issues.

Storage and Transmission

Saved ads, cached search results, Facebook account status, and related extension settings are stored in Chrome local storage on the user's device. The extension may send requests to Facebook when the user searches Facebook Ad Library or opens ad details. The extension may also connect to the AdSpector service endpoint at api.1stboutique.com for operational service functions and diagnostics. AdSpector does not sell user data.

Data Sharing

AdSpector does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only in the following limited ways:

  • With Facebook or Meta services when the user initiates Facebook Ad Library searches or opens Facebook ad detail pages.
  • With AdSpector service infrastructure when needed for extension operation, availability, diagnostics, or support.
  • When required to comply with law, security obligations, or enforceable legal requests.

User Control and Deletion

Users can remove saved ads inside the extension where controls are available. Users can also delete extension data by removing the extension from Chrome or clearing site and extension storage through Chrome settings. Cached ad search data is temporary and may be cleared by the extension.

Permissions

AdSpector requests Chrome permissions such as storage, scripting, tabs, webRequest, declarativeNetRequest, host permissions, and access to facebook.com pages. These permissions support the extension's visible features: saving ads, detecting Facebook Ad Library links, injecting save controls on Facebook Ad Library pages, and requesting ad data selected by the user.

Security

AdSpector uses Chrome extension storage and browser APIs to keep extension data scoped to the browser environment. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so users should avoid saving information they do not want stored in their browser profile.

Children's Privacy

AdSpector is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for business, marketing, and research workflows.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the extension changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
